Finnish Cemetery

WEST PARIS — The Finnish Cemetery Association will meet on Tuesday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mission Congregational Church, Church Street, West Paris. Reports will be given and election of officers held. All persons having connections with the cemetery are urged to attend.  If you are interested in joining the association, please join us, we would love to welcome some new members!

Church Services

WATERFORD — Services at the North Waterford Church will now be held in person, at 10 a.m. on Sundays (except for Easter, which will be the Sunrise Service at Keoka Lake at 6 a.m.). All are welcome.

WATERFORD — A Maundy Thursday Service will be offered on Thursday, April 14 at the Waterford Congregational Church on Plummer Hill Road. The service will begin at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Doretta Colburn officiating.

Easter Services on Sunday, April 17:
Sunrise service at the Waterford Town Beach on Keoka Lake will begin at 6 a.m.
Easter Sunday Service begins at 9:30 am at the Church. The Rev. Colburn will officiate. Her sermon title is “Amazed.”

Historical Society

PARIS — The first meeting of the Paris Cape Historical Society will be held on April 21, 2022 at its museum at 77 High Street, South Paris at 7:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to come and learn more of Paris’ history. After a brief business meeting Peter Hammond will speak on the railroad that used to run from Norway toward Fryeburg. Hammond is well acquainted with local history. He has featured a series of articles in the Advertiser-Democrat about a number of locales in the area.

The museum is open every Thursday afternoon from one to four. The public is welcome. The Paris Cape Historical Society encourages interested parties to join.
