Joan Kimball
AUBURN – Joan Kimball, 91, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2022, in Auburn, Maine surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born on Sept. 6, 1930, in East Millinocket, Maine. Joan is the daughter of Pearl E. Johnson and Mary E. Dickinson.She graduated from North Yarmouth Academy in 1948. Joan was happily married to her husband Kenwood J. Kimball, Sr. for 72 years. Joan and Kenwood were longtime residents of Mechanic Falls and Auburn.Joan worked for many years at Camp Arcadia Camp for Girls and Clover Manor as a housekeeper. Joan was a member of Marston’s Corner Baptist Church and most recently attended East Auburn Baptist Church. Joan was an avid prayer warrior and was diligent about sharing her faith in Jesus Christ with family. Joan also shared her faith with various people that she came into contact with. Joan also enjoyed volunteering in the children’s ministry of her church including many years with Awana. One of the ways that Joan enjoyed caring for her family was to pour her love for them into the details of everyday tasks such as baking, cooking, and cleaning.Through the years she had various hobbies such as ceramics, braided rug making, and quilting, and she was also a very good seamstress. In these things also, she showed her love for her family. Joan was greatly loved by her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother and wife and will be truly missed.Joan is survived by her husband Kenwood J. Kimball Sr. of Auburn; her children Jennifer Carter and husband Robert Carter, Jr. of Standish, Michael Kimball of Winthrop, Mary Jo Johnson of Auburn, Kathi Haak of St Albans, Vermont, Tracy Harris of Poland, and Kenwood Kimball, Jr. of Auburn. Joan is also survived by her seven grandchildren Spencer, Clark, Tonya, Katie, Ian, Joshua, Joel; and eight great-grandchildren Nathan, Samuel, Hannah, Arabella, Danika, King, Aoibheann, and Ona.A private family service will be held at a later date.
