 
Elizabeth B. Ellis
LEWISTON – On Sept. 5, 2022, Elizabeth B. Ellis, “Betty”, passed away peacefully after 94 years and now rests in the loving arms of Jesus. Betty was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduated from Springfield Township High School and married Robert Omer Ellis, a decorated World War II Marine Corps veteran. She later attended the University of Maine graduating with a B.S. in Art Education and served as the elementary art supervisor in the Lewiston School System from 1966-1973. Betty also served on the Board of the Good Shepherd Food Bank from 1987-2007, was active in the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship with her husband, Bob, and was a member of Prince of Peace Parish.
Space does not allow mentioning the many persons she lovingly and generously helped along the way.
She was predeceased by her her husband Robert and is survived by her brother, John Burrell, four children, Larry, Eric Stephanie and Ben, all happily married, plus seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Richard Bernier Sr., her beloved companion of many years. Richard lovingly and sacrificially cared for Betty during several years of declining health.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 67 Frost Hill Avenue, Lisbon Falls on Monday Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. A reception at the church will follow. A graveside ceremony will be Tuesday morning.
