We had numerous correct answers for last week’s Mystery Photo of the front window of L/A Community Acupuncture on Lisbon Street in Lewiston. One of our faithful contest players, former Lewiston City Manager Ed Barrett, often offers interesting information about our photos, and he wrote this about the Mystery Photo:

“The picture is of the ground-floor window of the prior Le Messenger Building at 223 Lisbon St. The 1880 in the photo is the year the building was built and also the year Le Messenger was established, although it did not move to this location until 1908. It became the longest-running French language newspaper and was published until 1966.”

The reflection in the window is of 220 Lisbon St., located at the intersection of Pine and Lisbon streets.

In a random drawing of all the correct entries, Jody Brier, a teacher at Lewiston High School who lives in Auburn, was picked as the winner of a $20 Hannaford gift card.
