Donald Roger Lavoie Sr.

AUBURN – Donald Roger Lavoie Sr., 72, passed away at Androscoggin Hospice House with his family by his side Oct. 27, 2022.

Donald was born on Jan 25, 1950, in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, the son of Albert and Florence (Bergeron) Lavoie.

Donald graduated from Lewiston High School and worked in the shoe industry and later at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Donald enjoyed playing his music, and loved to watch hockey. He was known to be called “The Legend” and “Don from Taiwan”. What Don enjoyed the most was to be with his family.

Donald was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Ann, his parents, brothers Normand and Gilles Lavoie, and his stepson Craig Martin.

He is survived by his sons, Donald Lavoie Jr. and his partner Melissa Dunphy of New Gloucester, and Michael Lavoie of Auburn; his three sisters, Denise Leger and her husband, Gerry of Auburn, Elize Pelletier and her husband Charles Pelletier of Lewiston, and Claudette Gagnon and her husband Raymond of Lewiston, brother Rene Lavoie and partner Claudette Dionne of Lewiston; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and many neices and nephews.

Donald will be dearly missed.

Services will be held on Nov. 10, 2022. A memorial gathering will take place at Funeral Alternatives 25 Tampa St. Lewiston, at 10 a.m., followed immediately by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Committal services will follow in the chapel at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
