LEWISTON — A report of shots fired shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday drew police to the area of Lionel Potvin Park, between River and Cedar streets.

Lewiston Police Lt. Derrick St. Laurent said officers responded quickly to search the area and checked local hospitals for potential victims, but none were found.

“It sounds like someone in the area was found injured, assaulted,” St. Laurent said, “(But) it’s unclear if or how they were involved.”

Anyone with information should contact Lewiston police at 207-513-3001.
