DURHAM — State Police are seeking assistance from the public in finding a hit-and-run driver who struck and seriously injured a 51-year-old bicyclist on Route 136 around 5:40 p.m. Monday.

According to lead investigator Maine State Trooper Tyler Stevenson, Reney Henry of Lisbon was riding his bicycle in a northerly direction on Route 136 near the Snow Road intersection when he was struck from behind by a car that did not stop.

The force of the impact broke the passenger side mirror, Stevenson said, and there is probably damage on the passenger side of the car as well as a missing mirror. Henry was wearing safety clothing and a helmet, he added.

Henry suffered lacerations and a broken bone as a result of the accident, State Police spokesman Steve McCausland said Monday night.

Evidence at the scene indicated that the offending vehicle was a dark gray metallic colored car, and may be one of four makes: 2006 or newer Ford Fusion; 2006 Mercury Milan; 2008-2010 Lincoln MKZ; or a 2006-07 Lincoln Zephyr.

Trooper Stevenson is asking anyone having any information or who may have witnessed the crash to call 1-800-228-0857. Reney was listed in serious but stable condition at CMMC Monday night, the trooper said. The investigation was ongoing late Monday night.
