LEWISTON — City officials announced Tuesday morning that a closure of East Avenue has been scheduled for Wednesday evening.

City workers will be replacing a sewer line at 150 East Ave. beginning at 7 p.m. The work will close a stretch of the road between Pleasant and Webster streets, a news release said.

Traffic will not be able to pass in either direction as the pipe replacement will span the entire street.

Motorists should seek an alternate route, according to the release.
