I am a lifelong member of the Democratic Party who enthusiastically supports Laurel Libby for reelection to the Maine House of Representatives because Laurel Libby stands for those values that the Democratic Party used to: individual freedom, personal responsibility, parental rights, free speech, and opportunity unrestrained by race.

The Democratic majority in the Maine Legislature has rejected those values. It believes that a government program will solve every social ill; that schools, not parents, should instill values in children; that there is no limit on what government should tax and spend; that government should pick winners based on race; that opposing views should be labeled as hate and suppressed.

In six years ending June 30, 2023, the consumer price index increased by 24.7% while state government spending, controlled by Democrats, increased by 49%.

Laurel Libby has stood for fiscal restraint, is in their way, is now a target, but has earned our support.
