To the Editor:
Mister Rogers reminded us in difficult times, to look to those who are the helpers.
My family moved to western Maine after I spent my career, first as a United States Marine, then as a Sheriff’s deputy, trying to be that person helping those in need. After I retired, I wanted to continue giving to my new community, and that is where I had the good fortune of meeting Joan Beal.
I luckily found myself under her tutelage with the First Universalist Church social justice committee, where we have worked to help those in need, and I am proud to support her becoming the Maine State Representative in District 81.
Joan Beal is a helper, and she knows the value that exists in our small towns. She will be ready to hear the needs of our community and will make sure we stay in the picture.
