I look at the source of campaign funds before I vote.
Dan Campbell is running for state representative as a Clean Elections candidate. That means he secured individual $5 contributions from 180 registered voters in House District 90 to finance his campaign. With the matching money from the Clean Elections Fund, he has a total of $17,150.
Rep. Laurel Libby, his opponent, is traditionally financed — not a Clean Elections candidate. She has a total of $123,000 as of the latest filing. Maine Ethics campaign finance reports from July 2023 through the latest in 2024 show that approximately 70% of her funding came from outside HD 90. Whom does Laurel Libby really represent?
Dan Campbell is running after a lifetime of public service to the people of this community. Libby seems to have her ambitions set way beyond HD 90.
I am voting for Dan Campbell.
