AUBURN — The Stanton Bird Club is set to host the first in its 2024-25 lecture series with featured speaker Nick Lund, Maine Audubon’s Advocacy and Outreach Manager, from 4-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4.
In his lecture, “State of the Birds: Decades of Change,” Lund will be discuss the changing population of Maine birds over the last few decades, focusing on which species are disappearing, which are increasing, and what the future of Maine birds might be.
A Falmouth native and 2010 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, Lund is the author of several books, including the “American Birding Association Field Guide to the Birds of Maine” and “The Ultimate Biography of Earth.” An avid birder and nature writer, his articles have appeared in Down East magazine, Slate.com, The Washington Post, National Geographic, and other outlets.
The free talk will be held at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St. The public is welcome.
