James “Doc” W. Halliday Sr.
PORTLAND – James “Doc” W. Halliday Sr., 78, a resident of Livermore Falls, was called home Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland surrounded by love with his family at his side. Jim succumbed to injuries sustained from an automobile accident that took place October 7, in Turner. Born May 28, 1946, in Lewiston, son of Bernard and Florence (Walker) Halliday. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn. Jim proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as a Millwright for International Paper Co. Androscoggin Mill in Jay until his retirement in 2014. Jim followed his career at International Paper by working for Home Depot for 10 years. He was a dedicated AYS football coach, avid high school football referee, a former first responder for CES, member of the I.P. Quarter Century Club, a component of Amvets of New Gloucester and a former member of Maple Lane Golf Course. He is survived by his companion, Patricia Bellegarde of Lewiston; a son James Halliday Jr. and wife Suellen of Livermore Falls; two daughters, Shannon Chabe and husband David of Auburn, Jennifer Pettorini-Kerr and husband Bill of Barboursville Va., stepson Gary Bellegarde and former daughter-in-law Tabitha Halliday. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street. Livermore Falls.
