For four years, Americans were in a “constitutional crisis” when illegals were allowed into our country. And when Americans had to pay higher tariffs to other countries for goods. Now that those countries are being required to do the same, they don’t like it. Who said the U.S. has to save the world when we can’t save ourselves?

My family came to this country legally, through Ellis Island. I expect everyone to do the same. Illegal immigrants do not pay taxes and take jobs away from Americans. Other countries will now have to pay the same percentage in tariffs as they have charged the U.S. in the past. This makes it fair for Americans.

Our country needs to be run like a business, not business as usual. The state of Maine needs to do the same for its people.
