The L&A Veterans Council will honor Lt. Col. Ret. Mark Welborn, who is retiring after 15 years instructing the Junior ROTC Air Force program at Lewiston High School. Before coming to Lewiston, Welborn had a 22-year career in the Air Force.

While no new memorial monuments will be dedicated on Saturday, L&A Veterans Council director Jerry DeWitt said 20 additional names will be added to the 34th stone, dedicated last fall.

Mayors Jeffrey Harmon of Auburn and Carl Sheline of Lewiston are both expected to attend the ceremony and give brief remarks, DeWitt said.

The Kora Temple Shrine Band and the Kora honor guard will take part in the ceremony. A number of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops are expected to attend.
