Kyeria Morse pitched a no-hitter, striking out 10 and walking two, as Oxford Hills eked out a 1-0 win over Edward Little in a Class A North softball game Tuesday in Auburn.
Oxford Hills (10-3) scored in the fourth inning when Natasha Child reached on an error, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and raced home on an error.
Kassidy Lobb allowed four hits and walked two batters for Edward Little (7-6).
ST. DOMINIC 19, MT. ABRAM 12: Emily Andrews produced seven RBI, and the Saints (9-3) beat the Roadrunners (0-11) in Salem Township.
Sophia Franciose added three hits and three RBI. Leah Shannon had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
Celia Rose had three RBI for Mt. Abram.
WELLS 13, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: Savannah Tardiff smashed three doubles and drove in four runs, leading the Warriors (8-6) to a five-inning win over the Patriots (3-9) in Wells.
Delani Brown, the winning pitcher, added two hits and two RBI.
Madalyn Patrick had two hits and scored a run for Gray-New Gloucester.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 21, TELSTAR/GOULD 8: Ali Mazza and Kyanah Wing both drove in four runs as the Falcons (9-4) beat the Rebels (4-7) in a game shortened to five innings in Bethel.
Wing was 5 for 5 and also scored a run. Madison Blanchard added two RBI, while Layce Boucher and Maddy Brown each had two hits. Brown hit a triple.
Kendal Duchart was 2 for 3 with two RBI for Telstar/Gould.
POLAND 9, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 4: Olivia Rioux and Brenna Galipeau-Eldridge each drove in two runs as the Knights (6-8) defeated the Raiders (3-9) in Fryeburg.
Poland broke a scoreless tie with six runs in the third inning, then added three in the fourth.
Karlee Lothrop, the winning pitcher, recorded 13 strikeouts.
Fryeburg’s Reagan Wilson was 2 for 3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored.
LEAVITT 20, LINCOLN ACADEMY 1: Kaylee Tremblay and Hailey Turcotte each had two hits and two RBI for the Hornets (11-1), who scored 12 runs in the third inning to finish off a mercy-rule win over the Eagles (4-8) in Newcastle.
Tremblay scored four runs, and Turcotte and Ashlyn Holbrook each scored three times.
Bronwen Coffin and Olivia Ball got the only hits for Lincoln.
LEWISTON 5, BRUNSWICK 3: Elsie Cloutier’s two-run single in the top of the seventh inning separated the Blue Devils (7-6) from the Dragons (1-12) in Brunswick.
Ava Dionne also drove in a pair of runs for Lewiston, which has won three straight games, while Cloutier, Irelyn Ackley (RBI) and Aubrey Wood (two runs) each had two hits.
Dionne pitched a complete game to earn the win. She struck out 11, didn’t allow any walks and limited Brunswick to three hits.
All three of the Dragons’ runs came on Skyler Augustine’s game-tying three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Brunswick pitcher Caitlin Seitz struck out 14 and walked one in seven innings in the circle.
BASEBALL
ST. DOMINIC 7, MT. ABRAM 6: A pair of three-run outbursts were too much for the Roadrunners (9-3) to overcome against the Saints (7-6) in Salem Township.
St. Dom’s plated three runs in the top of the first and three more in the third to take a 6-1 lead. Mt. Abram battled back with three in the fourth and two in the sixth, but its comeback bid fell short.
Freshman Logan LeClair pitched the Saints to their fifth straight win. He struck out four and allowed four hits and four walks in five innings. Ben Dumais earned the save with two innings of relief.
St. Dom’s had six hits, including doubles by Dumais and Finn Cavers.
Mt. Abram’s Bryce Wilcox drove in a pair of runs and tallied two hits, and Walker Wolfe hit a double for the Roadrunners.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 10, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Tyler Warren, Josh Pollis and Kegan Jordan all drove in two runs as the Falcons (6-6) beat the Rangers (0-12) in a game shortened to five innings in Rumford.
Jordan earned the win, allowing one hit, striking out seven and walking three.
Jack Downs got the lone hit for Traip.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 9, POLAND 1: Alex Allain clubbed a three-run homer in the first inning and pitched a five-hitter as the Raiders (6-6) beat the Knights (5-10) in Fryeburg.
Michael Malia also homered and drove in three runs for Fryeburg. Allain and Malia went deep back-to-back in the first inning.
Allain struck out eight without issuing a walk. Poland’s run was unearned.
Shawn West and Watson Paradis each had two hits for Poland. One of West’s hits was a double.
MT. BLUE 6, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 5: The Cougars (8-4) scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to earn a key Class A North victory over the Broncos (7-6) in Farmington.
Mt. Blue, which has now won four straight, trailed 5-4 entering the final frame. Dane Cousineau singled home the tying run, then the game-winning run came home on an error.
Gage DeCarolis went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI for the Cougars. Nolan Leso and Oliver Cormier each doubled, singled and drove in a run, and Ben Wrigley doubled.
Aiden Wilkens pitched a complete game for the Cougars, striking out six and limiting Hampden to four hits.
Alex Cote doubled and drove in two runs and Ashton O’Roak added a pair of hits for the Broncos.
Kaysen Wildman pitched the first six innings for Hampden and struck out seven batters.
WELLS 6, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4: Cal Moody, AJ Pelletier, Matt Flagg and Mason Colbeth each drove in a run, and the Warriors (5-7) scored two runs in the sixth inning to beat the Patriots (6-7) in Wells.
Griffin Richmond, Kaiden Chase and Carter Davis each had an RBI for Gray-New Gloucester.
BOYS LACROSSE
LEWISTON 12, CONY 6: Jackson Bement’s four goals paced the Blue Devils (6-5) past the Rams (3-6) in Augusta.
Six other Lewiston players scored: Ben Gradwell and Collin Michaud netted two apiece, while Nick Beaucage, Lucas Bragdon, Bernardo Fra-Nero and Alex Wade each had one. Isaac Bellemore assisted on four goals, and Fra-Nero had two assists. Lewiston goalie Brock Rancourt stopped 12 shots.
Zack Waddell scored Cony’s first four goals and assisted on goals by Kyle Olson and Nick Dion in the fourth quarter. Bryce Watson and Jackson Wing had two assists apiece.
