Buckfield senior pitcher Carmen Crockett struck out the 600th batter of her career during the Bucks’ 10-0 win over St. Dom’s in a Class D South softball contest Friday in Buckfield.
Buckfield (14-1) has won 14 straight games and ranks No. 1 in the D South Heal point standings, while the Saints (10-5) are second in the region.
CARRABEC 15, TELSTAR/GOULD 1: Aiyanna Tibbetts homered, drove in three runs and scored four runs for the Cobras (11-2) in their win over the Rebels (5-8) in Bethel.
Tibbetts was one of four Carrabec players with three hits, along with Karen Baker (double, triple), Adawna Landry (double) and Amiya Tibbetts, who each also drove in a run. Kaitlin Dellarma and Lily Caldwell had two hits and an RBI apiece.
Jillian Robinson pitched all seven innings for the Cobras, striking out 10, walking three and limiting the Rebels to three hits.
Telstar’s Cadie Campbell tripled, and Viv Charette and Emma McPherson each had a single.
EDWARD LITTLE 12, MT. ARARAT 6: Lauren Bolduc’s four hits paced the Red Eddies’ 15-hit attack in their victory over the Eagles in Topsham.
Bolduc scored twice and drove in a run. Kylee Lebrun added three hits for Edward Little (9-6), Lexi Kelsea (double, one RBI) and Allie Michaud had two apiece, and Kassidy Lobb doubled and drove in three runs.
Lobb started in the circle for the Red Eddies and struck out three batters. Chloe LeBlanc relieved Lobb in the sixth inning and struck out five.
Mt. Ararat’s (3-12) Emma Graffam doubled and singled, and Laila Adams had a pair of singles.
HALL-DALE 5, LISBON 2: The four-time defending Class C champion Bulldogs (12-2) plated five runs in the top of the seventh inning to overtake the Greyhounds (9-4) and avoid their second consecutive loss of the week in Friday’s C South matchup in Lisbon.
Lucy Gray earned a complete-game win by striking out six and limiting Lisbon to three hits.
Gray also doubled and drove in two runs for Hall-Dale, which lost to Monmouth on Monday. Torie Tibbetts singled twice and had two RBI, and Genevieve Ciccarelli drove in a run and had two hits, including a double. Claire Kapinos (two hits) and Jade Graham also doubled for the Bulldogs.
Greyhounds pitcher Makenzie Eaton struck out six, walked five and scattered eight hits over seven innings. She also doubled, drove in a run and scored on Sophie Bowie’s fourth-inning single. Brooke Norman had Lisbon’s other hit.
DIRIGO 3, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 2: Madisyn Bradeen’s seventh-inning single scored pinch runner Xandria Libby and gave the Cougars (10-4) a walk-off win over the rival Falcons (10-5) in Dixfield.
Bradeen and Alyssa Ellis each had two hits and Emma Witas double for Dirigo, which scored its first two runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Cougars pitcher Leah Turnbull struck out eight and walked one in seven innings to earn the win.
Addison Libby also pitched complete game for the Falcons. Kyanah Wing led Mountain Valley’s offense with two hits, including a double.
BASEBALL
MARANACOOK 5, MT. ABRAM 4: Grady Hreben doubled home the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning as the Black Bears (10-4) rallied past the Roadrunners (10-4) in Salem Township.
Noah Longfellow was 2 for 3 with an RBI and three runs scored, while Hreben and Caldre Glowa each drove in two runs for Maranacook, which tied the game with two runs in the sixth.
Hreben also pitched the first six innings before giving way to River Fallos, who threw two hitless innings to earn the win.
Ash Rollins had two hits and two runs scored for Mt. Abram.
ST. DOMINIC 10, BUCKFIELD 2: Ben Dumas pitched a complete game to lift the Saints (9-6) past the Bucks (6-9) in Auburn.
Dumas allowed two runs on four hits. He struck six and walked four.
Riley Daigle had three hits, while Curtis Wheeler and Finley Cavers each had two for St. Dominic.
Ryder Bragg had two hits for Buckfield.
OXFORD HILLS 10, SKOWHEGAN 0: Carson Stevens pitched a one-hit shutout for the Vikings (9-6) in their six-inning win over the River Hawks (5-10) in Skowhegan.
The Vikings have won three straight games, six of their past seven and eight of the past 10.
Stevens struck out five and didn’t allow a walk in six innings. He also contributed offensively with a hit and an RBI.
Colton Jendrick was 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and four RBI, while Gunner Truman and Jacob Turcotte each drove in a pair of runs for Oxford Hills, and Cam Pulkkinen contributed two hits, including a double.
Trevor Austin had Skowhegan’s only hit.
MT. ARARAT 3, EDWARD LITTLE 2: Ethan Berry was 3 for 5 with three stolen bases and scored the winning run when Ethan Card drew a bases-loaded walk in the 12th inning, giving the Eagles (12-2) a walk-off win over the Red Eddies (5-10) in Topsham.
Colby MacFawn got the win after throwing three hitless innings in relief of Kaleb Hussey.
Edward Little’s TJ Kramarz, making his first varsity start on the mound, allowed three hits and two unearned runs through six innings. Max Kimble pitched the final 5 1/3 innings.
Max Nelson and Blake Chamberlain each had two hits for the Red Eddies.
GIRLS LACROSSE
GREELY 8, MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 6: Audrey Ingersoll had three goals and two assists to lead the Rangers (7-5) over Maranacook/Winthrop (9-2) in Cumberland.
Hadley Hatch added two goals, and Avery Bush, Kelsey Crocker and Kylie Lord also scored.
Cooper Davis led Maranacook/Winthrop with two goals, followed by Emerson Davis, Hadley Farwell, Alice Ferran and Stella Stewart with one apiece.
Liv Clark made 12 saves for Greely. Devyn Eliasen and Willow Woodford combined for six saves for Maranacook/Winthrop.
