There is a change at the top of the Varsity Maine softball rankings for the first time since the second poll of the spring on May 13, as Windham has supplanted Cheverus from the No. 1 spot by defeating the Stags in the Class A South final on Tuesday. Cheverus drops to second.

Medomak Valley jumps from outside the rankings to third, while its Class B championship foe Hermon moves from sixth to fourth, and Class A finalist Edward Little joins the poll at No. 5.

Hall-Dale, which is playing for its fifth straight Class C title Saturday, is back in the rankings at No. 8. The Panthers’ state final opponent, Bucksport, is tied for ninth.

The Varsity Maine softball poll is based on games played before June 19, 2025. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
