Letters sent recently by several people have accused this newspaper and others of not printing letters from non-liberal types, of not wanting to acknowledge that there are frequently many sides of an issue.
As a proud liberal who has suffered through Cal Thomas and his ilk, I’m not ready to wholeheartedly sign on to that point of view, but I do have a request. I would appreciate a chance to listen to other points of view and just don’t have places to access them. Not to try to convert, but to have a civil conversation and learn things.
I’m over 90, I live in Auburn, and my health is a bit uncertain. If any of these people can get to the Auburn Public Library, perhaps we could meet after lunch there someday, before July is over, to see if this might be helpful.
