Does this make sense to anybody? In the July 25 paper, the front page lead article was “DOT: Highway cameras won’t be used to issue tickets.” On the front page of the Local & State section, the lead article was “Maine rise in traffic deaths outpacing rest of US, study says.”
Every time I am on the interstate I experience what I call “speeding weavers,” cars traveling at excessive speed, weaving in and out of traffic lanes, who are mostly within 5 miles of the speed limit.
Now, it makes common sense — to me at least — that if these drivers knew they risked being seen on camera, they just might slow down and not treat the highways like their personal race track.
Just saying.
