Louis Philip Chabot

WASHINGTON – Louis Philip Chabot, 86, of Livermore Falls, passed away on July 24, 2025, in Auburn, Washington, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 22, 1939, in Chisholm, Maine, the son of Lucien Chabot and Evelina (Labbe) Caron.

He attended Livermore Falls High School and graduated in 1957. After graduation, he joined the Army National Guard where he received basic training at Fort Dix, N.J. He was promoted to squad leader for his platoon and was proud that he was prepared to serve his country should he be called to duty.

On Oct. 18, 1958, he married Louise (Filteau) Chabot at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. They enjoyed 58 years together before her passing in 2017.

Louis was employed at Otis Paper Mill for many years. Later in his career, he achieved his goal of becoming a Master Electrician and started his own business, Redi-Electric, Inc. He was well known in the local community and beyond for his exceptional work ethic and attention to detail. He worked in this capacity until he retired, opting to enjoy life with his wife Louise traveling, camping, and spending time with family.

Louis enjoyed the outdoors his whole life. He loved fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, hunting, and biking. Many of his family’s favorite memories are of these outdoor adventures.

He is survived by daughters Karen Williamson and husband Andrew of Washington State, Laurie Johnston of Washington State, daughter-in-law Tara Chabot of Livermore Falls; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Chabot and wife Sherry and Normand Chabot and wife Evelyn, all of Livermore Falls.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife Louise Chabot, son Steven Chabot, his sisters Simone Welch and her husband Edward, and Christine Sabin and her husband Steven, and son-in-law Bob Johnston.

Visitation will be held 4 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Family and friends are invited to gather together at St. Rose of Lima Church Hall for a light lunch following the funeral and interment.
