Max Ferguson of the Portland Sea Dogs was named the Eastern League Player of the Week on Monday.

Ferguson, an infielder/outfielder, hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the seventh inning of the Sea Dogs’ 4-3 win over the Altoona Curve on July 29. He homered again on July 30, a two-run shot in the seventh inning of Portland’s 6-2 loss.

In six games last week, Ferguson hit .438 with three doubles, two home runs and eight RBI. He led the Eastern League with a .571 on-base percentage and a 1.571 OPS. He has hit safely in eight of his last nine games.

In 85 games this season, Ferguson is hitting .198 with seven home runs and 28 RBI. He also has 25 stole bases.
