BETHEL — Five dual-port, pay-to-use Level 2 EV chargers at a Gould Academy-owned lot at Elm and High street snear Bethel Village were proposed to Bethel Planning Board members on April 9. A site walk occurred on April 17.
Dave Willis of Gould Academy and Emma Hawkins of ReVision Energy made the proposal for installation which if approved, will likely happen over the summer.
The chargers will be powered by a new 400A electrical service, which will likely connect to the existing CMP pole on High Street. Power will run underground to pole-mounted meter and main breaker boxes, then continue underground to each charger.
The two chargers on the Elm Street side of the lot will require minor pavement modifications.
Willis and Hawkins wrote in their proposal, ” this project aims to expand EV charging access in the area, supporting sustainable transportation and providing convenient charging options for the community.”
In other business, the Planning Board accepted the resignation of Carolyn (Sue) Dunn.
