HAVE A BARRY MANILOW TIME

John Waldie

DENMARK — On Friday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at Denmark Performing Arts Center, John Waldie will present “Barry Me A Little,” his take on Barry Manilow, the man who “wrote the songs that make the young girls cry.” (Though he didn’t write that song: Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys did.)

Manilow was one of the biggest hitmakers of the 1970s and ’80s and he is still touring at age 82. Waldie, who delighted audiences last year in Denmark with his Billy Joel tribute, takes on Manilow this time with many of the songs in his repertoire.

BATH — On Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. The Ultimate Doors will perform at the Chocolate Church main stage, offering an authentic production of the music of Jim Morrison and The Doors.

“Every piece of equipment on stage is exactly what The Doors used in the 1960s from the instruments and amps to the clothing and microphones,” promoters say. “The Ultimate Doors leaves no stone unturned in bringing an authentic Doors tribute show to the stage.”

The next day, also at the Chocolate Church, Myrtle Street Klezmer will bring to the stage their high-energy exploration of the past, present and future of klezmer music, the traditional celebratory music of the Ashkenazi Jews.
