
Tyler Mates converted a penalty kick for the tying goal and Jacob Gibbs scored the go-ahead goal in the first half as Leavitt erased an early deficit and earned a 3-1 win over Waterville in a boys soccer game Tuesday in Turner.
Matthew Tabet clinched the victory with 1:08 remaining, connecting with a direct kick.
Hamad Alsaleh of Waterville (1-3) opened the scoring midway through the first half.
Luke Horn made seven saves for Leavitt (3-1). Waterville’s Grayson Kingsbury stopped eight shots.
MT. BLUE 3, MESSALONSKEE 0: Nate Zeliger scored twice to help the Cougars (3-0) beat the Eagles (1-3) in Oakland.
Henry Renaud also scored, while Kooper Keller stopped four shots for the shutout.
Dagen Gooding made six saves for Messalonskee.
TRAIP ACADEMY 6, POLAND 0: Tyzo Diallo tallied four goals, Jack Kem and Adrian Cunningham also scored, and the Rangers (3-0) shut out the Knights (2-2) in Kittery.
Ovi Kern made three saves for the win, while Poland’s Eliot Rioux stopped 11 shots.
GIRLS SOCCER
WATERVILLE 3, LEAVITT 2: Caroline Cothran netted two goals and had an assist for the Purple Panthers (2-2) in a win over the Hornets (1-3) at Waterville.
Kiera McNeill also scored, Piper Hamilton had two assists, and Waterville keeper Roselyn Martin made 12 saves.
Reese Bilodeau and Brooke Boutaugh each recorded a goal for Leavitt. Hailey Welch stopped five shots.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1, OAK HILL 1: Natasha McDonald of Spruce Mountain (2-2-1) opened the scoring and Sidney Wood of Oak Hill (1-2-1) tied it before halftime as the teams played to a draw in Wales.
Shelbey Elwell assisted on Oak Hill’s goal.
Jayda McDonald made 18 saves for Spruce Mountain. Oak Hill’s Grace Lough had seven stops.
MT. BLUE 1, MESSALONSKEE 0: Kari Savage scored in the second half, assisted by Lily Hastings, to give the Cougars (1-3) a win over the Eagles (2-1) in Oakland.
Mt. Blue keeper Ava Davis and Messalonskee’s Kiana Carrier both made four saves.
YARMOUTH 6, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: The Clippers (4-1) got goals from six players as they defeated the Patriots (0-3-1) in Gray.
Miah Jacobs, Fiona John, Emma Sullivan, Lilah Pernal, Tess LaBrecque, Emme Adams scored, and Hanna Andromalos made eight saves for the shutout.
Mallory Hardiman stopped 11 shots for the Patriots.
MARANACOOK 13, LISBON 0: Evelyn Stevenson scored six goals and had an assist to lead the Black Bears (4-0) to a win over the Greyhounds (0-5) in Lisbon.
Phoebe Bell notched two goals and an assist, and Alice Ferran and Chloe Mills also scored twice. Lydia Stevenson was the other goal scorer.
POLAND 3, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Phoebe Paradis scored in the first half, and Leksi Langevin and Graceyn Camire added second-half goals as the Knights (4-1) beat the Seagulls (1-2) in Poland.
Vanessa Alley-Thayer stopped 13 shots for Old Orchard Beach.
MT. ABRAM 1, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Evelyn Pepin’s goal midway through the second half gave the Roadrunners (4-1) a win over the Mustangs (3-2) in Monmouth.
Abby McCarty assisted on the goal. Edna Bilodeau recorded the shutout with six saves.
Monmouth’s Lily Carlton stopped seven shots.
BRUNSWICK 2, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Eva Kousky and Hazel Bachman both scored as the Dragons (3-1) beat the Red Eddies (1-3) in Brunswick Tuesday.
Brunswick outshot the visitors, 19-2.
FIELD HOCKEY
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/NYA 2, YORK 0: Kenlie Nadeau scored both goals and Mallory Kulas made 12 saves as the Patriots (3-1) defeated the Wildcats (1-2-1) in Gray.
Abby Lacombe assisted on Nadeau’s first-quarter goal. Nadeau then made it 2-0 in the third quarter, assisted by Lydia Trytek.
LEAVITT 8, MOUNT VIEW 0: Ainsley Barry potted a hat trick for the Hornets (2-2-1) in a win over the Mustangs (1-2) in Thorndike.
Sage Dunn and Ava Twitchell scored twice, and Brylee Emmons had one goal. Sophie Reny, Mallie Buckley and Calee Libby each had an assist.
Riley Millet and Sam Krebs combined for the shutout, making a total of three saves. Kelsey Stevenson stopped 17 shots for Mt. View.
