While no date has been set yet, The Shoe Rack in Auburn will probably close its doors near the end of February, manager Gladys Koss said Friday afternoon.
The City Council in December granted the store, located at 20 Union St. Bypass, a going-out-of-business sale license which is good for 60 days, but can be renewed if necessary.
“The stock is going down,” said Koss, who noted that the store cannot legally bring in new stock once such a license is issued.
