LEWISTON — Steve DiMillo, chairman of the Maine Restaurant Association board of directors, has announced the recipients of the organizations 2012 annual awards.
Awardees are selected by the association’s board from nominations submitted by its statewide membership.
Award categories include Restaurateur of the Year, Chef of the Year, Allied Member of the Year and Lifetime Achievement. These awards will be presented April 3 during the Maine Restaurant Association’s annual awards banquet at the Holiday Inn By the Bay.
Nominees for Restaurateur of the Year have proven themselves to be astute restaurant entrepreneurs who demonstrate creative talent and dedication to perfecting the dining experience. They operate businesses that serve as a cornerstone of their respective communities. This year, the association will honor the founding owner of DaVinci’s Eatery in Lewiston, Jules Patry, a leader in the repurposing of the Bates Mill complex.
The Chef of the Year award will be given to David Turin, chef/owner of David’s Restaurant in Portland and David’s in South Portland.
The Allied Member of Year award goes to Atlantic Pest Solutions.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Curt Parent, owner and operator of Cook’s Lobster House on Bailey Island.
