DRESDEN, Maine (AP) — Searchers have located a 12-year-old Maine boy a day after he went missing after getting off a school bus in his hometown of Dresden.

Officials said Micah Thomas was found Thursday in a smelt shack on the Eastern River. Wardens say he was cold and wet but alive and being treated by doctors.

Thomas was last seen when he was dropped off by a school bus at 3 p.m. Wednesday. His father reported him missing when he did not arrive home and could not be located.

The Maine Warden Service led the search for the boy that included dogs, airboats, ground searchers and a helicopter.
