Kewane Pontoo, 19, of 25 Pine St. was escorted out of the library by three police officers and driven off in a police cruiser. He was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston where he was expected to be treated for an apparent psychotic break, Deputy Police Chief Jason Moen said Friday.

Pontoo was issued summonses on three counts of assault involving three victims at the library.

No additional information was available regarding the identities of those who were assaulted or whether they were injured.
