DIXFIELD — Cody St. Germain, Spencer Trenoweth and Kaine Hutchins combined to throw a no-hitter as Dirigo trounced Boothbay, 11-1, in a five-inning game Saturday.
Trenoweth was credited with the win on the mound and the trio also combined for 11 strikeouts.
The Cougars (4-1) jumped out to 9-0 lead after three innings and used a seven-hit attack against the Seahawks (0-2). T.J. Frost and Ben Holmes each had a double and two hits.
Cony 3, EL 2
AUGUSTA — Simon York hit a game-winning single with the bases loaded in the 13th inning to lift Cony to a 3-2 triumph over Edward Little in softball action Saturday.
Taylor Carrier and Chandler Shostak had three hits apiece, including a double for the Rams (1-4) in their first win of the season.
Josh Delong and Ben Johnston provided the Red Eddies (4-2) with two hits apiece. Starting pitcher Nate Pushard went nine innings, giving up just one run, six hits and struck out four.
Relief pitcher John Simpson took the loss for Edward Little.
Buckfield sweeps Vinalhaven
VINALHAVEN — Buckfield enjoyed its time on the island Saturday by sweeping a doubleheader from Vinalhaven, 12-2 and 15-1.
Trevor Averill had three hits in the opener, while Alan LeBel matched the feat in the nightcap. Averill had five hits in the two games.
Jonah Williams and Garrett Hamann were the winning pitchers in the two five-inning contests.
Gould 10, Hebron 0
BETHEL — Pitcher Jeb Clarke struck out six batters, but was also a force at the plate, tripling twice and driving in five runs, as the Gould Academy overpowered Hebron Academy with a 10-0 victory in a five-inning game Saturday.
Gould built a quick 6-0 lead after two innings and scattered nine hits.
D.J. Sudbay had three hits and catcher Alex Manning had two for Gould.
Boys’ lacrosse
Camden Hills 13, Mountain Valley 4
CAMDEN — Max Mercier and Vinny Kwiatkowski netted three goals apiece as Camden Hills sailed to a 13-4 victory over Mountain Valley in boys’ lacrosse.
The Windjammers (2-3) put at least three goals on the board in each quarter as they breezed through the contest. Mercier scored all three of his goals in the second quarter as Camden took a 7-2 halftime lead.
Senior attackman Kyle Duguay netted both of the Falcon’s (1-4) first half goals.
Goalie Coyote Freeman made 23 saves for Mountain Valley, while Aiden Gordan earned the win in net with 20 saves for Camden Hills.
Oak Hill 19, Mt. Blue 2
WALES — Jon Averill and Caleb Provost scored four goals each as Oak Hill routed Mt. Blue 19-2 in boys’ lacrosse action Saturday.
Alex Mace, Isaac Daigle and Kyle Flaherty scored each of their first high school career goals for the Raiders.
Matt Smith and Cam Henkel scored one goal each for the Cougars in the losing effort.
Goalie Josh Andrews defended 20 shots for Mt. Blue, while Matty Martin and Kyle Tervo combined for three saves for Oak Hill.
Softball
Gardiner 13, Oak Hill 1
WALES — Kristal Smith had five hits, including two triples, to lead Gardiner to a 13-1 victory over Oak Hill.
Only four of Gardiner’s runs were earned as Oak Hill committed 14 errors.
Gardiner improves to 4-1.
Kortni Michaud struck out six batters for the Raiders (2-3). Brianna Hodgkins led Oak Hiil with a single and a double. Brooke Beganny scored the lone run on a passed ball in the third inning.
Cony 13, EL 0
AUGUSTA — Pitcher Sonja Morse struck out eight batters and gave up one hit as Cony unleased a 14-hit attack and waltzed past Edward Little (1-5) with a 13-0 victory in a softball game Saturday.
The Rams (5-0) built a 7-0 lead after five innings.
Maggie Russell belted a three-run homer in the fifth inning and catcher Nicole Rugan had an RBI triple in the fifth, too.
