FAIRFIELD, Maine (AP) — Maine Warden Service divers have recovered the body of a 62-year-old Skowhegan woman whose car veered into a stream over the weekend in Fairfield.
Police Chief John Emery says the body of Cora Marley was pulled from the water Thursday morning and sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta.
Witnesses driving behind Marley’s car said her vehicle was driving erratically and the brake lights didn’t come on Saturday night before the car veered off an embankment next to a bridge. Martin Stream is 18 to 20 feet deep in the area around the bridge.
Marley was the sister of former state Sen. Ken Gagnon of Waterville. Gagnon said his sister took medication for diabetes.
