Volunteers plant tomato seedlings Thursday after school in the raised beds for the Tri-Town Community Garden in Jay. Spruce Mountain Middle School students, teacher and community representatives pitched in to create the garden. Volunteer Winnie Shink, left of Jay, student Cameron Mitchell and teacher Denise Acritelli plant the tomato plants in one of four garden beds, while students Nate Steele, Lucas Alley, organizer Trevor Doiron and Mallory Doiron prepare another bed for planting of other vegetables. They expect to harvest the plants in late July and will donate the bounty to the Tri-Town Ministerial Food Cupboard in Livermore Falls.
