PARIS — Nomination papers are available for a seat on the Board of Selectmen to replace Ted Kurtz, who resigned last week.

Selectmen voted Monday night to accept the resignation and set a special election for July 19. Those interested must return nomination papers to the Town Office by the close of business on July 9.

The term ends in 2013.

Kurtz was first elected to the board in March 2010 to replace former selectman David Ivey. He was then re-elected to a three-year term in June 2010.

Last Monday, two days after the town meeting, Kurtz emailed former Chairman Robert Kirchherr and announced his resignation from the board. He said his only  law partner, Alan Perry, had left to start a new law firm, so he needed to give more time to his practice.
