Massachusetts parties were in Lewiston this week looking for a site to start a yarn mill. They are satisfied with the locality and if a suitable building can be obtained will locate here. They require floor space, 35×106, with two or more floors. The local members of the board of trade were infomed that owners of a number of small industries in Massachusetts are seeking other locations outside of that state.

A pair of Connecticut men were left scared and shaken last night when a 700-pound Maine moose lumbered into the path of their station wagon on the Maine Turnpike. The accident took place at about 11:45 p.m. near mile 83 of the Turnpike between Lewiston and Gardiner. The moose was killed, the car was wrecked and the driver and his passenger were injured. Auburn city counselors on Monday will be asked to authorize the sale of a lot in the industrial park at Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport. The sale has already been approved by the airport’s board of directors to JRD associates, which Airport Manager John L. Carey said is associated with MLT Realty of Lewiston. Carey said the company plans to construct a 20,000-square-foot building and make space available for tenants, although none are lined up so far.
