STRONG — A local man was charged Friday with illegally growing pot plants for the second time in two years.
Franklin County deputies and Maine drug enforcement agents seized 32 pot plants Tuesday that were growing on his property on Burbank Hill Road in Strong. The plants were 5 to 6 feet tall and were starting to bud, Franklin County Sheriff Lt. Niles Yeaton said Friday.
Ivan L. Gould Jr., 60, was issued a summons on misdemeanor charges of marijuana cultivation and violation of condition of release, Yeaton said.
Gould is on a one-year deferred disposition with the state. He entered into the agreement after he pleaded guilty to felony possession of marijuana on Sept. 16, 2011.
The plea agreement dismissed unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs and an unlawful possession of scheduled drug pertaining to the seizure of more than 20 pounds of recently harvested marijuana at a Burbank Hill Road residence in Strong on Sept. 30, 2010.
