OXFORD — The Resistance Ministries, a local nonprofit ministry, will present an outdoor concert on Saturday, Aug. 25, benefiting the family of 15-year-old Cheyenne Rose Pollard, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
The Pollards, a family of seven, has only one car which cannot accommodate Cheyenne and her electric wheelchair. They have been trying to save money, with little success, to purchase a van outfitted with a chair lift.
The fundraiser will be from 1 to 7 p.m. at Daddy O’s Restaurant on Route 26, just before Oxford Plains Speedway.
Performing at the concert will be the Lisa Gallant Seal Band, Salvation’s House, The Blacksmiths, The Peter Talbot Band, Dream in Purple and The Eyes of Elisha Band.
Admission is free with donations accepted. Plans are to have food and drink available along with a dinner plate meal to help raise money for the family. Participating bands will sell merchandise with a portion of sales going to the Pollards.
For more information, call 743-6982 or look up the Pollards on Facebook under The Cheyenne Pollard Benefit Concert.
