Andrew Sockalexis, the great Indian Marathon runner, will probably be engaged for a race at the Maine State Fair. With Sockalexis will come Thomas Lilley of Boston. They will do a five mile race on Sept. 4th or 5th. Sockalexis and Lilley were both in the great Marathon and Olympic games in Sweden. Sockalexis acquitted himself with distinct honor. He is a wonderful runner and his appearance at the State Fair, with other foot races, should be a great attraction.

The mystery of the unidentified flying object spotted floating around in the sky over south Lewiston Saturday morning has been solved. Roland Charpentier of the Lisbon Road identified the airborne craft as a delta-wing type jet which appeared to have lost its ignition. He said that while working at the Turnpike City Service Station, he saw the craft trailing a cloud of exhaust smoke but not making the usual noise of a jet. The information officer at Brunswick Naval Air Station said that such a plane landed for electrical repairs and then took off as soon as repairs were completed. The original report came from Mrs. Henry Leighton of the Pinewood Road, who said she saw a torpedo-shaped vehicle which made “an awful shish.”
