MEXICO — The Police Department responded to 47 calls recently, including the following:

Thefts

A spokesperson from Family Dollar reported on Sept. 2 that two incidents of shoplifting took place. One involved the theft of about $30 in merchandise. The other, an unspecified amount of merchandise.

An employee of the Far East Restaurant reported on Sept. 3 that two people left the business without paying about $30 for two meals on Sept. 2.

Burglary

A Chase Avenue resident reported at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 4 that someone had entered her home earlier in the day and took her purse that contained an undisclosed amount of cash and a debit card.
