Air National Guard Airman 1st Class David S. Stern graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Stern is the son of Ben Stern of Mt. Vernon. He is a 2007 graduate of Maranacook Community High School, Readfield. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2011 from Daniel Webster College, Nashua, N.H.
