NORWAY — Proprietor Dan Reavis announces that the Tannery Street Wine Company, a family-owned wine distributorship, has recently set up shop in an 1800s warehouse on Tannery Street.

Reavis hired experienced industry professionals to grow and develop their portfolio and sales territory, which is the entire state. In April, Jeffery Cole, a wholesale wine industry sales icon in Maine, was hired to lead the effort. His 30 years on both the supply and distribution sides give Tannery Street a distinct benefit because of his many long-term relationships with suppliers, restaurants and specialty retailers. He will handle territory development from Portland south.

Last month, Tannery Street Wine Company hired Chris Plumstead. Plumstead has years of on-premise wine distributor management experience and a separate career track as the magazine publisher of Gourmet News and advertising manager at Down East magazine for 14 years. He is certified through the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. Along with wine experience, he brings extensive marketing and social media expertise. Plumstead will handle territory development from Portland north.

For their growing portfolio, they target small international vineyards. They pride themselves in finding boutique producers that craft exceptional wines with value in every price category.
