NORWAY — Town Clerk Shirley Boyce said hundreds of absentee ballots have been requested for Tuesday’s elections.

As of Wednesday, Boyce said 485 of the town’s 3,756 registered voters had requested absentee ballots. The ballots must be returned to her by 8 p.m  Nov. 6 to be counted.

Polls open Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Norway Fire Station on Danforth Street and close at 8 p.m.

Voters may take get absentee ballots until 5 p.m. Thursday unless the voter completes a special circumstances application, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.

Boyce said this is the first presidential election in which Norway will be processing absentee ballots early. Those received by Monday morning will be processed then; the rest after polls close Tuesday, she said.
