Republican Eleanor Espling won re-election over Nichole Stevens by a vote of 3,310 to 2,217 in the race for State House District 105 on Tuesday.
Small-business owner Stevens, 32, of New Gloucester, challenged Republican incumbent Espling, 39, also of New Gloucester, campaigning on a pledge to get the economy “back on track so lenders feel confident making investments” to business owners and to “eliminate and streamline regulations that bog down the process.”
Espling, who has served two years in the Legislature, campaigned on a platform of continuing the work of the 125th Legislature to streamline regulations and reduce energy costs. She also pledged to reform welfare to meet the needs of Maine’s neediest residents.
Neither used Clean Election funds.
