LIVERMORE — The Planning Board will hold a public hearing Tuesday to accept comment on two amendments to the site plan for Shackley Hill Spring on Shackley Hill Road, off Route 108.
Currently owners, Jean and Sue Castonguay of Livermore Falls sell water from a spring-fed well on their property.
The hearing is at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Town Office.
They intend to do bottling on site as opposed just extraction, town administrative assistant and Planning Board member, Kurt Schaub said Monday.
The containers they propose using are biodegradable, he said. They plan to install new equipment and will need to increase the size of the building to hold it.
The proposal is to increase the size of the building on the property from 1,800 square feet to 9,800 square feet, Schaub said.
They also intend to improve an existing driveway to access the site so that heavy trucks would be able to use less of the town’s road. The company is responsible for repairing and maintaining any damage to the town’s road in the spring when the roads are posted, Schaub said.
Copies of the application are available at the Town Office.
Following the hearing, a group of residents will ask the Planning Board to develop a proposed fireworks ordinance to develop limits that are stricter than the state’s but do not want to ban them, he said.
