LIVERMORE FALLS — The Board of Appeals will hear an appeal of the Planning Board’s decision to approve a site review application for a pet crematory at 17 Brookside Ave.

The Planning Board approved the application for Journeys End for the second time in October.

In May, the Planning Board approved the application but it was appealed by abutters due to a procedural error. The Board of Appeals sent it back to the Planning Board.

Michelle Pomeroy plans to open the pet crematory in a stand-alone garage at her residence.

Abutters believe the Planning Board did not follow proper procedure when they approved the application.

Attorney David Sanders hired by some of the abutters told the board in October the town doesn’t have zoning but the town’s ordinance does have performance standards.

The ordinance also requires the board to consider whether the business would have an adverse effect on the neighborhood and its character, he said.
