HALLOWELL — Gaslight Theater, celebrating its 76th season, has announced its schedule for 2013. The venue at One Winthrop Street, Hallowell will be the site of drama, farce, classic Americana and the music of Burt Bacharach.

The season will open on March 22 with “Mrs. Packard” by Emily Mann, directed by Bruce Hertz. This new play offers the true-life story of a woman struggling to right a system gone wrong.

Opening June 14 is the farce “No Sex Please, We’re British” by Alistair Foot and Anthony Marriott. After seeing this play you might think twice before ordering Scandinavian glassware by mail order.

August 23 will open the William Inge classic “Picnic.” Watch how a neighborhood picnic forever changes the lives of people in a small town.

And in mid November, “Promises, Promises” brings together the songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David and the genius of Neil Simon. If you are already humming “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” this show is for you. November dates to be announced.

Evening performances are at 7:30 p.m., matinees at 2 p.m. For more information, call 207-626-3698.
