The impending snowstorm already has wreaked havoc with Maine’s weekend high school sports schedule.

State championships in wrestling and cheerleading originally scheduled for Saturday were postponed early Thursday by the Maine Principals’ Association.

Conference championships for skiing and track and field have also been moved.

Cheerleading will be delayed until Monday, with the first session at Bangor Auditorium getting underway at 4:30 p.m.

Wrestling is pushed back one week to Saturday, Feb. 16. Because Augusta Civic Center is in use for the high school basketball tournament that day, the championships will be moved to three different sites throughout the state.

Class A will be held at Sanford High School. Class B is now set for Fryeburg Academy. Foxcroft Academy will host Class C.

The KVAC/MVC skiing championships scheduled for Saturday have been postponed to Monday at Titcomb Mountain. The WMC nordic championships scheduled for Saturday have been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Stark’s Hill in Fryeburg.

The KVAC indoor track and field championships are still scheduled for Saturday, but have been moved back to 4:30 p.m.

Please return to sunjournal.com periodically over the next three days. We will post further postponements and cancellations as they become available.
