PORTLAND — Corporate Finance Associates, an international investment banking services firm, announces that Samuel W. Adams has joined the firm as director in the Portland office.
He is interested in working with business owners in Lewiston-Auburn, Androscoggin County and across Maine.
In his role at CFA, Adams will be responsible for, among other duties, raising capital for the firm’s growing clientele and for mergers and acquisitions transactions.
He has more than a decade of experience raising capital and investing in small and medium-sized businesses. Since 2001 he has formed and run private funds that invested more than $400 million in middle-market companies.
Adams began his finance career as a corporate lawyer representing banks and borrowers at Shearman & Sterling and other firms in New York, where he practiced for 12 years. He received a J.D. from Washington and Lee University in 1989 and holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from Kenyon College.
He lives with his wife and son in Freeport.
