LEWISTON — Kevin Lewis, chief executive officer of Maine Community Health Options, announces that Katie Dzurec-Dunton has joined the organization as director, compliance and regulatory affairs.
MCHO is a not-for-profit that will provide health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014.
Dzurec-Dunton has extensive health care reform implementation experience. Before joining MCHO, she worked for the Center on Health Insurance Reforms at the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute as an assistant research professor. In her previous position, Dzurec-Dunton consulted with a number of states to implement the Affordable Care Act. Her earlier experience includes serving as outreach and communications director at the Maine Bureau of Insurance and as an aide to the Maine Legislature.
Dzurec-Dunton obtained her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Maine and has a law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law. She is an at-large board member for the Maine Association of Area Agencies on Aging.
She lives in Farmingdale with her husband and daughter.
