JAY — The town of Jay has received numerous bids for three town-acquired properties.

Selectmen authorized Town Manager Ruth Cushman on April 8 to award the properties to the highest bidders on April 22.

Minimum bids were set to cover all the town’s costs, including 2011 back taxes and sewer fees.

Eight bids were submitted for a mobile home and land at 17 Marcello St., according to Cushman’s information. Reggie Lane of Jay was the highest bidder at $4,250. Other bids ranged from $2,500 to $3,636.

The unpaid taxes and sewer fees for the property totaled $1,956.32.

The second property, a small lot on Hidden Circle, received five bids. The sum of $189.95 in back taxes is owed on the property.

The property was awarded to Glenn Iaggi of Jay for $1,000. The other bids ranged from $600 to $801.

Eleven bids were received for a third property, two lots on Hidden Circle with a vacant trailer.

Terry and Iris Trask were the highest bidders at $10,139. Other bids went from $1,961 to $7,150.

The property was foreclosed on for $1,477.79 in outstanding taxes.
