LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus, the aging and disability resource center for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties, was an Exemplary Award recipient in the category of Outstanding Non-Profit Volunteer Program at the Governor’s Awards for Service and Volunteerism at the State House in Augusta.
The Exemplary Award acknowledges the selection committee’s appreciation for the agency’s contributions to civic and community life.
The awards program is managed on behalf of the Office of the Governor by the Maine Commission for Community Service. It was launched in 1986 and has continued for 27 years. The selection panel is comprised of community members, including past award recipients. Awards are presented each April during National Volunteer Week. This year, 59 nominations were submitted.
